One of the keys to delivering a high standard of education to all students is a well-rounded curriculum. At St Luke's Academy, we follow a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates an array of subjects. Within each subject, a variety of topics are covered, ensuring that each child gains an in-depth understanding of the subject.
Each lesson is conducted by one of our exceptional teachers, and a wide range of learning resources are used to create an exciting learning experience. We understand that children learn best when they are engaged, and we make every effort to design lessons that capture their imagination.
Numeracy Ninjas
There is an emphasis on developing functional numeracy across KS4, and Numeracy Ninjas are used at the start of all lessons in year 9 and year 10 to improve numeracy skills. In year 11, this is replaced by exam-specific numeracy questions.
The Numeracy Ninjas website contains ninja skill focus worksheets for students to practise on any of the skills used, from using the times tables and doubling and halving to rounding to significant figures and calculating percentages.
MyMaths
The MyMaths website is another excellent learning resource that can be used at home. Students are given their own login and password. MyMaths contains the entire content of the national curriculum for maths and is an excellent resource for revision in year 11.
